Is there one ??

I ask as there are a lot of "locals" for this circuit and I think it would be great to get people together the night before for what is likely the largest supported meet on the DD calender .....

Any thoughts or should I just make arrangements to go out with my non DSC mates ???

I'm planning on staying at your place fella - so you'd best be there!!!! ;)

well, Alan & I were aiming to be there to 'set up camp' about 6 - 7ish Dibs. (Might possibly be earlier if we can)

Lin is cooking our dinner (& cant be too late for dinner, cos she has the children as support crew as usual)- and then we were going to crack open a few bottles - wanna come then?
Say 8ish??

We will Charlotte, that is me , Senna3, Trudi, my mate Adrian and possibly Dallas.
I'll be setting up in the outer paddock as I normally do, complete with mains leads and kettle.
And as close to the scrutineering bay as I can get. Do those in the garages have to push their bikes to scrutineering in the morning or do they get special treatment, if its a push rather them than me

AK

no special treatment for them Skids - so we can all laugh in the morning:lol:

Dickie, I am pushing Chris for the meeting to be held at brands rather than a pub away from the track as originally mentioned.
Otherwise, we wont be happy about unloading all our gear/bike (s) at the track & leaving it there, possibly losing our 'patch' for the van whilst we are gorn. We certainly dont want to start unloading again in the dark, prob well after 8pm, then have dinner....

moan, moan, moan, moan, moan. ;)

yeah may make more sense but there will probably be plenty of people with cars that could give you a lift if the meeting stays in a pub.

not if you're staying at the thistle.

but yeah as you know i'm easy. i think chris is obviously trying to find somewhere quietish where we can discuss things rather than having to shout over laods of lairy racer types.:o

Absolutely Dickie!

I am going to see if we could use the Ducati UK truck, as it will be there and then shoot off for dinner

good solution Chris:) means nobody holds the meeting up cos of getting lost, still unloading etc:) and those of us who want an early nite can still do so;)

so let me get this right, on the night before the largest round on the DD calender as far as supporters go all of the riders will be "elsewhere" ??

Fair enough, I'll be along Sunday morning at some point ...

Tim, Karen and Fabio, we'll go up to Blackheath for a bite to eat and a few beers .... (no nightclubs though Tim .. :P)

So everyone who has responded says they will be at Brands and would be happy to see you and other supporters and that's not good enough for you? What exactly do you want then?

Lizzie,

I think you have the "tone" of this wrong, maybe everything I type should contain smileys from now on, I just find it odd that the likeliehood is the majority of people won't be around for a chunk of the evening, and lets be honest, I imagine with the agenda being as important as it is for DD 2006 that this meeting is likely to take longer than anticipated.

The Brands round from the very beginning has been touted as "the" round to be at, local circuit, largest turn out etc etc ...

I just think the club may be missing the opportunity to make this one of "the" events of the DD & DSC year to date.

I know I've been looking forward to it.

:)

so whats going on then.??? where are we all meeting.?

it is always difficult to get everyone together pre race as people turn up at different times, stay at different places, maybe in a rush to get set up set etc.

i have mentioned it before, but how about getting outside caterers in to do a bar b q after the races, say, 5 o'clock?

all the racers will be there and most spectators should be able to hang around for an hour or 2?

whoever did the food at the apex trackdays did a good job.

one plate of grub and a beer/wine/soft drink per member?

got to be worth it for a caterer? 50+ meals in an hour or so.

i dare say you'll get the 'thats unfair spending club money on something i cant get to' etc but you cant please all the people all the time.

if it was my call thats what i'd do.

makes sense to me...but i guess from the struggling to get numbers on the TA5 and the DSC dinner and dance.....finances may not stretch....

Still a good idea to get us all together for a few jars n food.

01-Sep-2005, 12:20
sure. we'll see what happens. something like 5 quid is neither here nor there i guess for most people to pay for a bit of grub. but thought it would be a nice touch for the club.

you looking fwd to SOT ?
