Mornin'all,

Can someone please point me in the direction of a supplier of race sump/filler plugs?

I've tried Moto2 ,who I got my first set from, but they seem to have closed down. :(

Cheers,

Ali

Hi Ali

Can you not use the ones off your old engine...or did a red hot shard of con-rod smash them to pieces?

The guysers that put my big-bore engine together used a piece of high-tec apparatus called a "pillar drill" to punch a small hole in my bits....which cost sod-all and did the job! None of your fancy-dan hewn-from-billet poofter nonsense for me mate! (Unless its made out of carbon-fibre, that is!

I was going to say "Says he with the full carbon fairing!"

I can use the filler cap, but the sump plug has disintergrated, probably due to being 2mm above the exhaust all season. The alloy is soft as putty.....

Ali,

I might have a spare sump plug lying around that I can drill using my trusty cordless Black & Decker. I'll have a look tonight if you want?

Thanks Paul, it'd be a good backup in case I can't find one.

Listen, if I'm coming back into the fray it's got to be on top notch machinery, and heavy, standard sump plugs are directly contrary to the ethos of a pared-to-the-bone superfast race bike.............

Alternatively, I may just buy a bike and take the indicators off....

Damn, with Fil having my spare CDI units and Ali having a sump plug I was hoping to tout myself as a "DD racebike supplier to the stars"

Oh, and Antonye has had a tacho cable off me too..

For the right price I can forget anything!

But seriously, IF I don't run a carbed bike next year we can do a deal later.
