Has anyone fitted Heli bars to a 998?, were there any fitting issues?

On the stock bars how easy is it too rotate the levers downwards a little, so the reach to the levers is more natural?

Heard there is a pin you need too remove, any concerns with doing this?

Bare with me guys the questions will get less..................

.........eventually ;)

Thanks E

Hi I have fitted Heli Bars to my 998 (02)

No problems firtting them, leave all cables and brakepipe routings all as original.
I did not have to remove any pins, the only thiny due to the extra cable length is that the trottle is nearly 180deg the other way around due to the cable length.

I got mine from the states as they are a lot cheaper there. saved £50

From memory the Helibars dont have the pin that locates the levers in a set position. Which is better as you can locate the levers to suit you.

Heli bars are superb, as for fitting, an absolute doddle, Nelly fitted them when he serviced the bike :D

The standard bars have a little locating pin to position the controls. From memory, it can be twisted out with a set of vise grips. If not, it's easy to grind off, and then you can swivel the levers around to a position more suited to humans.

It depends on what you are trying to get from the bars.

I needed them higher and ended up with the cyclecat ones www.cyclecat.com

Transformed the bike for me
