Where's the best place to get replacement s/s nuts & bolts from? Especially rear sprocket nuts, rear wheel nut, front calipers joining to forks, heel guards.

Chris,

There's an engineering company in Crawley that does s/s nuts n' bolts. Whenever I need any I make a list of diameter/length etc then add a few extras for luck to maintain stock levels in my "box of useful bits".
They are very reasonable and quite "flexible" on price ("Yeah, a tenner will do for that lot").
Can't remember the name but can supply if required.

Don't replace your caliper mounting bolts with S/S.It's not strong enough!!Look at the thread about my caliper bolts that hold the calipers together!!After much debate,we've decide that it is strong enough for that use!

Jasp,

I think the M10 x two that hold your calipers on are probably (I can't be arsed to do all the math) well over speced for use.

Yes, SS is weaker, and not the designers choice, but I don't think you'll end up down the road.

You should see the size of the fixings that held most of my racing car together. I think there where only 6 off, M8 bolts on the whole car, and 4 of those where holding the engine!
