Memo to Clockwork Orange - make sure you bring the indoor barbie please - we gotta keep warm inside the awning somehow :o ;)
I think regardless of the vote, however you look at that, we HAVE to start at Cadders to qualify to ride at Assen.

im p***** off by the decision but there was a vote and thats what came out. have to go along with it. im obviously in the minority but nothing new there.

Hmm, Graeme was doing Cadwell but doesn't look like he can now as it's Doug that wants to go to Assen.
Oh dear.
Well I voted to start the season at Brands - but I guess if we need to race at Cadwell to get the new people to the series to Assen then thats what we do.
We'll see how we go I suppose ...

I originally voted to start at Brands too, I think - we've had many votes since then though - Oh I don't know i so confused:puzzled:
Look on the bright side, now if we blow an engine/crash/f8ck up at Snet we only miss one race not 3........
PS It's not snow you have to worry about, it's fog!
Our 2 lads also voted for Brands - but never mind, the bikes are ready to rumble.
Lin, might be worth checking - as it is 2 rounds - could they do one race each at each meeting? - and remember, Doug HAS done 2 meetings - and therefore more than 4 races last season.
Mind you, reading this new ruling again, it looks like it means EVERYONE has to go to Cadwell & also Brands, with no missing out, if they want to do Assen, regardless of their licence level.....

Yeah, that's right - the same round was reduced to the woodlands circuit last year due to fog.
It will be like Donny only a shedload colder :)

I'm happy enough with that, I find Cadwell a far more enjoyable circuit to ride than Snetterton and as I hope to be at Pembrey in 3 1/2 weeks time and then return there a week before the Cadwell round I should be use to the cold and snow by the time I get to Cadwell
Even though the same round last year was fogged out, His Lordship and I were at a No Limits day the day before... and it was a nice warm sunny spring day!
We'll obviously have rain for DD tho.

No cadwell, so no assen, which means I'll be riding out of my skin at every other round. Good start to the season, 4DNFs.

not much consolation ali, but only 1 dnf... cadders is your dropped round and there's only 1 race at assen.
So no chance you'll be fit enough to just potter round at cadwell??

I thought it was two rounds as opposed to four races? Better if it's four races.

Off for an xray tomorrow, but the last time I asked (politely!) they said no way, no chance, not on your bloody life. Not a muscle issue, they just think the bones growing so slowly there's a possibility it could snap. :(
Ask Dave Reilly, he waited months before discovering the bone wasn't growing at all.

Cheers Weeksy, very appreciated.
But actually my problem is a money problem, not time :D
Starting at Brands I could have dedicated 3 months of my salary to the bike, but starting at Cadwell that's only 2/3 of that small budget...:( and furthermore it adds the Cadwell entry / petrol to go there / etc...

I don’t normally get involved with such discussions as the vote has been cast, so we now all have to deal with the line that has been drawn and make it work. However…
C was the option! What were people thinking of!!!!
Non-Point scoring first round for virgin racers is surely the perfect start, It did not affect entries to Assen for us younglings either! And towards the end of the year we could have had 3 race weekend extravaganza/party in Norfolk…

Cheers mate... Anyway my expectations for this year were to win at least one race. I don't want (and can't afford) to fight for the title.... So if I'm not ready at the end of March, Cadwell will be a DNS for me, that's not a big issue.

i like this lad......great attitude....:D
It's easy to be macho sitting in a warm office on a early feb evening, but anyone who says it's not more than touch worrying trying to outbrake someone into the old hairpin (or chasing through the woodland section) in cold wet conditions is a bare faced liar. As you go light over the crest of the last left, standing on the pegs, still on the gas, the absurdly-close tyre wall infront beckons, and the lumpiest curb on the circuit is on the inside of the harpin (although this sounds like it's changed). All in all not what I would pick to kick off the season, but that's what's on the menu this year. Many folk ended up in the kitty litter there last year, wonder who it'll be in 8 weeks time??
Personally I got one of my 3rds at Donny in torrential conditions last year, so I may come out to roll around at the back, get my sigs, and surprise a few folk......:ninja:

There was a little bit of that at the beginning of last season, but it was quickly stamped out!
By Brands we were diving into Surtees three abreast leaning on each others fairings.:o I love it, but I did manage to overcook it twice last season with predictable results. My only big off was on a TD, with no one around, in the dry, on about my 140th lap in two days, on a track I know pretty well now....:puzzled: I can be spectacularly dim sometimes!
I hope everyone has a great season and we have a lot less trauma than last year, but it's racing and the red mist does like to turn up at the most inappropriate times.....

from reading between the lines of Johns (montys) comments, it's basically a restriction that Non-novice riders are allowed to race there and you must have 2 signatures on your license.
Be they from this year, last year or the years before (within ACU boundaries) then you should be OK.... ?

Quite right Dickie
Then the ACU officials that are santioning the use of Novice club licence holders to take part in a foreign event can satisfy themselves that it is safe to do so and that riders are not going to be a danger to themselves or anybody else.
Remember Assen is a high profile event and the ACU for one don't want to end up with egg on their face. Providing they bear in mind that it is mainly a novice series there shouldn't be any worries.
