fitting brand new DP (Termi) exhaust to 900Sie and the right can / link pipe is too long - bolt hole in silencer bracket won't align with right footpeg carrier - if i shortened the link pipe (the short length of pipe that slides into the original manifold) about 10mm it would line up (left can went on OK). (the cans slip into the manifold like the standard cans - ie., no clamps like later monsters seem to use).

looking at the standard cans the right link pipe seems to be slightly shorter than left.

this all implies that the manifold where the cans slip in is asymetrical. has anyone else noticed this, is it me?

NB i've loosened everything, checked the obvious etc and it all appears cosher.

Have you loosened the two bolts on the silencer bracket, they have about 10mm play left or right in them.

Unfortunately, yes.

The silecer bracket slots (where it bolts to the can) allow vertical / rotational movement. my problem is I need fore / aft movement. The bracket (where it bolts to the footpeg carrier) also has a slot but this is no where near long enough.

call me what you like - but i wish i could make sense of this stoopid exhaust.

it all squares up lovelly now but i had to trim 10mm of the r/h pipe where it slips into the manifold!!

aint monsters a laugh? always fancied one and am really chuffed with my new purchase.

got your Cadwell entry(s) in yet? can't wait ooooh!
