I know that with enough money and time you could fit and thing into any chassis, never heard it been done just wondering if anyone else had? Does the engine bolt in or does it require frame mods? and what about electronics and fueling?

way too much trouble for what you'll gain. if you're going to do it use a 998/999 motor but you'll have to do a TON of mod, including a frame mod.

I'm always up for a project but in this case the best advise has to be sell the 748 and buy a 998 imo.

May be worth giving a go if it was a 748R that you had with the larger engine mounts and the shower injection, otherwise as Wilf says there could be a huge amount of work and agro involved

i built the motor with a 2 phase 900ss lightened and balanced crank into a 998 deep sump cases.

stock pistons were milled to get the deck height correct leaving the center raised to gain more compression.

a combination of the piston modifications skimmimg the heads and the extra stroke gives a measured compression of 14.1

own port work on heads and r cams so 150 or more hp is in reach...

just a normal modified 748 ecu and loom running the 999 throttle bodies..

if you want pics pm me your e mail..

Ok so what does actually just 'bolt on' and what requires minor mod's.

Cheers Martin.

motor bolts straight in or small mod if using small bolt frame
will need 998 header pipes
get some 999 throttle bodies with injectors shower type.lightly modify throttle pot to read correct voltage and cable
get 998 airbox

slight mod to fuel lines as 999 uses one line with a t piece..

wiring is self explanatory will need to use a 916 style chip as 999 uses single injector and pc3 to map the fuel as it will be so far out as the 999 uses iwp069 injectors wich flow much more than greens.

there are a few things i forgot to mention but nothing u couldnt crack if your mechanically minded
