Having a bit of a traumatic afternoon... cleaned bike thouroughly and put the last bits back together then went to start it...

NOTHING!!! pump priming but not a whisper from anything else.

Went through everything in my capability list and finally gave up and rang CK who passed me over to Alan :D

Straight off the bat he came up with a test to narrow it down and identify the two possible culprits!! OK so I scared the pants off myself performing the test (bypassing the solenoid) but it worked and I now have a potential solution.

So big thanks to AK for helping me and getting me past the i am going to sell this f***ing bike and buy a Honda' moment

Ironically one of Fred's interim tests was to wack it with the mallet and see if it started.... :o:o:o

I am working on the process of elimination and tomorow night's activities include swapping sidestand switch, new solenoid and electrical testing

fingers crossed one of them will help :eureka:
