I'm still waiting for my entry forms, but just wondered if the Superbike entry fee is around £800-£900???

I only ask, as they get 8 times more track time, and twice as many race laps as us, and we're paying £120??? for 15 mins qualifying and 2 combined 8 lappers?

So it must be way way more expensive to enter the Superbike race right?

All things being equal and that.

I'm f-ing livid. I know we're not exactly a top-spec series, but Probike get nearly THREE HOURS TRACKTIME!!!

We get about 45 mins.

This isn't club racing, we're just paying to support Probike. Fcuk that.

C'mon Ali, don't beat around the bush and mince your words.

Tell us how you really feel!

I did think about posting exactly what I think of a certain profit-making race organiser but know I would be banned for life for expressing my opinions. Funnily enough I haven't really had a problem with them before, but the complete disregard we're being shown at this meet is appalling, especially as we paid a good slice of their wages last year and will continue to do so this year.

Somehow we've gone from:

1 x 15 min untimed practice
1 x 15 min timed practice
2 x 8 lap DD Class A races
2 x 8 lap DD Class B races

to:

1 x 15 min timed practice
2 x 8 lap mixed grid

I make that a cut down from about 90mins to 45 mins track time. This is even worse as CC have very few track days.....

ask the rider reps to request an untimed? - in view that the tracktime has been cut - and they are no longer prepared to let you have the 2 grids?

45 mins track time = £2.66 a minute..!

CK
16-May-2006, 10:42
and at Assen:

£80 entry = £1.45 per min of tracktime (1 x 15 min race & 2 x 20 mins qual)

bit of fuel needed to get there tho:lol:

No untimed practice on an new circuit with 15 mins to qualify and potentially no race if can't be quick first time out seems unreasonable, :flame:
not sure this is what i signed up for !!!!

I'm on strike. I won't eat anyting until we get an untimed practice.

In the worse case, I'll be much lighter on the bike...

Can't say up until recieving the regs that we were gauranteed any untimed practice and as it hasn't appeared on the enetry regs, it may have been under consideration by NE at one point but thats all.
Most race meetings at club level consist of one practice and two races these days, untimed Practice is a bonus and would be nice and there is no harm in asking but the other club classes are in the same boat as us and if they do it for us they may have to do it for them and this would only happen if the timetable can accomidate it.
Got to remember the Superbike races and sidecar races take up one heck of a lot of time, They spend ages on the grid before each race with the Solos up on stands with warmers on, people doing interviews etc

As for two grids we stand to get them when we put 25 out on each grid, something we have failed to do so far so who can we blame for that.

Yes I think the situation stinks and is not what DD is meant to be about, its starting to get the feel of every other race series and as I am use to this sort of thing I have paid my money and sent my entry in

I say...

"Spread the love..."

We need to speak to other clubs and maybe run at 3-4 different ones.

New Era are VERY GOOD at destroying good things!!

I'm sure they've been very helpful in getting DD off the ground - and taking our money, but when people start dropping out of DD, who is gunna take us seriously then?

NE will cripple DD - Fact!

How does what DD get from NE compare to other classes and other clubs? That is the yardstick. Where there's lots of classes being run at a meeting then you will always get reduced tracktime and that is bound to be worse if you have the superbikes - they quite reasonably get the the biggest slice of cake.

Other clubs make promises too.............But most keep them....

what are numbers looking like for cc? i know i sent that email back.

this may all go a way if we got the numbers and if not i know a few of you have two bikes now can we make up the numbers with them.

Look at it another way.

Less track time, means less wear and tear on the bike, less fuel, less tyre wear, thats gonna save you all a loads of £££, :P

Ray.

Would normally agree, but we're talking about 14 races over two days, as opposed to NE's usual 16-18 races per day. I know probike are top billing, but screwing your regulars for a one-day spectacular is pretty poor business sense. Hopefully grid sizes will be big enough next year for us to go to all the clubs and renegotiate.

I think I did actually :(

Typical innit.

However, I now think that Qualifying is a much fairer way to do it :P

:D

I don't. Option 1 seamed fairer, if you don't get a place then you can save the fee and weekend away...

Option 2 - Imagine turning up, having a bit of a mare qualifying and ending up with an early bath, no races and an entry fee down the loo.

Rant over and out.

LoL! At this rate any newcomers will be put right off by all the talk of lack of track time and prohibitive costs per race. Come on guys, lets see what the RC and riders reps can do for us eh!?!

Anyway, the 620's can afford to sit this one out and let us stunt riders have a play
