they really are taking the ****. i would suggest we tout round other clubs now to see who will offer the best deal for us for next season. new era clearly dont give a ****. big mistake.

No ****...was one of the major reasons for me keeping my entry in at donny...getting the SV or SoT for 25 quid made the day good value and helped balance the cost of going to donny for one race..!>!>!..

a trackday plus 130 plus fuel etc etc for 1 race at donny now.......expensive blooody day

*sob*

I believe that someone suggested on the Endurance website that the DD series and the KTM series could perhaps be run alongside the KRC. It's been done before, and it's no secret that the KRC series is struggling due to thin grids.

I think that the KRC are looking into that option anyway, with the idea of maybe reducing the length of the endurance races so that they are more affordable to teams. If you had a couple or 3 other race series' helping to take some of the financial pressure off, then it could only be a plus and might be what each championship is after.

You could have a 2 day meet, with practice and qualifying on the Saturday, with a 3-4 hour endurance meeting in the morning, followed by the sprint races in the afternoon. Or you could do it the other way round and have the sprints in the morning. Or indeed you could have the sprints either side. In fact the only option I can't see working, would be having the sprints run at the same time as the endurance........although I'd be game! ;)

You'd then seperate the DD, KTM and whoever else from the mainstream clubs like NE, and they'd gain their own clear identity as a matter of course.

I promised myself I wouldn't get involved in these debates, but I can't help tinkering.

Even though it's only my second race meeting ever, I decided to put myself down for the F400 class, as well as DD. Even if I don't complete the F400 race I still get an extra practice/qualifying session and could probably start the race and do 6 laps or so. For £25 it seemed reasonable value.

I haven't seen my NE entry back yet, although it may come in today's post, but I did note that £157 was taken from my credit card. (DD = £130. F400 = £25. Credit Card fee = £2). So I am hopeful that I got the extra class.

However, if you're the only rider to get in, don't go to sleep with your eyes closed on Saturday

If you're about Dom, he's more likely to be concerned that he doesn't go to sleep with his mouth open.

What a load of bollox  I'm in half a mind to pull out of the whole rest of the season at the moment. It's just one thing after the other and there's only so much anyone should have to sit back and take.

Strangely, the phone's engaged and you can't leave a message at the moment at NE

TBH I've now had enough, if they have pulled the race I want my money back. A credit note will not be enough.

Not that I mean to create disharmony or anything but...
You don't have to accept a credit y'know - if you pay for something and it's not delivered, you get your money back in the same way it was paid. Simple as that.

Ooh, Nick, you little stirrer you  No more of your nonsense, be off with you.....

Well I've been really seriously thinking about pulling out now.

Donington will give me a full refund on the trackday if I let them know before 5pm tomorrow (5pm today if you're on Friday's TD)

Then I'd use New Era credit for Snetterton.

Need to speak to Chass really, but he's hob nobbing in Europe somewhere ;)

Well ... I guess I'm not going to be Mr. Popular ...
cos I've got my entries and I'm in SV race as well as the DD race.
I did send my entry in fairly early, and I was polite when I phoned up to ask about changing my 2nd entry from SOT to SV  and I am an experienced old git with a Clubmans licence ;)
All I need now is to work out how many of you I have to bribe to get a good enough place to get another signature towards my national licence :biaggi:

Oh - could prob let someone have a spare ticket, maybe two, btw

domski

You should have kept the Sound of Thunder entry.

DD runs before SV650, whereas SoT is first session out ;)

Oh, that bloody Fil2 bloke got in SV650 too

You boys will be wanting to borrow my uberlight uberfast 800ss then? ;)

Does anyone actually race Svs with NE? Are there many in the class?

domski
04-Aug-2006, 22:19
Nobody (not even SV's) had entered it until Oulton, and even then it only had a handful of DD riders.

There won't be many in it at Donny either!

It gets lumped in with 400's and Hairnets.

Hi,

I got 4th reserve in the SVs which means at vey least I get an extra practice session in the morning....which I will definitely need.
Sorry about some of you not getting any extra races or time :-(

I'm looking forward to any track time at the moment...just gagging to have a go on my bike full stop as it's the only riding I get at the moment.

Although I would certainly like more but the Saturday track day is chocca and I can't do Friday. I'll probably turn up Saturday and see if I can get in for PM or something...don't ask don't get i spose. Only thing is I have to buy some sound muffler things.

On the NE subject I did ring them when I received my entry to ask about how this reseve thing works and they were really laying it on about how oversubscribed Donny is. Does anyone know know why it is oversubscribed? Is it a weather thing? Couldn't they run it so that if you did Cadwell in March and attend most meets, you earn points or something so that you get first dibbings when it is oversubscribed like this? Am I way of the mark as to why it has happened this time?

Cheers

Franco

It's a popular round as there are only a couple race meetings at Donington each year.

Ah well what can I say....does seem strange that they can't run it as normal then (2 race format)....I better not go there.....
