my computer has been hijacked!!

well fed up
spent about 4 1/2 hours trying to sort this, time to ask for help me thinks

if i try and log into either ebay or google i seem to end up at some right old ropey search engines
i have done all the normal stuff eg ad aware, spybot, web shredder antivirus even system restore all with the latest updates but they aint finding ought
whats next
all i can think of is a nice clean format

1 - Download Firefox, save it on your Desktop to make things easier:
http://ftp-mozilla.netscape.com/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/2.0/win32/en-GB/Firefox%20Setup%202.0.exe

2 - Install it.

3 - Delete all shortcuts for Internet Explorer.

There you go, your PC is cleaned :D

Had this problem before out of desperation i went to the homepage of the search engine and found the instructions to remove it .
you will need to run "regedit" from the start menu and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE then SOFTWARE and open each menu till you find the registry entry with the name of the search engine and remove that entry
