Not sure how to describe it, but since fitting the rennsports the bike seems to "fight" the lean - past a certain lean angle (not very much) it just doesnt want to lean, a bit like having the pillion lean the other way, and if i push the outer slightly the bike stands up almost instantly, does anyone have any ideas?
Have you checked your tyre presures, what are they at now?

yep, i would check what your tyres pressure are...and are they second hand tyres.....if they are, they might be more worn on one side....

My bike was the opposite when i changed to D208's. I found i was putting in way to much steering effort, probably to compensate for the worn tyres. Initially flet like i was riding on a knife edge. did all the usual checks but there was nothing wrong. They just felt different and it took some getting used to.

I thought it might be tyre pressures too, especially since the problem isn't quite as bad when the tyres are warmer - weird thing is it didnt feel this bad when I did a session at brands with less than 15 psi in the front :o

may be worth checking the headraces, also try removing the damper and see how it feel, not that I would recomend doing that over the fast bumps of Combe

Hi,
Personally having used Rennsports/Supercorsa's etc. my preference for track based riding are Dunlop 208 GP's, significantly faster turn in, good grip levels and a really nice feel, very communicative. Haven't used them on the road, so they might feel a bit too 'nervous' for road use.

I wish mine felt nervous! The day after i fitted them i nearly came a cropper on my fave roundabout, turned it in, bike wouldnt lean anymore, went straight towards the kerb! :o
Yesterday, rode down to the bottom of my road and took a right, the same happened again :(
The reason I chose renns/SCs is because they offer the rear in a 190/55 which gives the quick steering of a 180 coupled with a bigger contact patch
I'm a bit confused by this remark
"The rear in a 190/55 gives the quick steering of a 180 coupled with a bigger contact patch"
A far as I'm aware a 180 steers much quicker than a 190.... or am I missing something?

correct me if im wrong but a 180/55 steers quicker than a 190/50 predominantly because of it higher profile ie 99mm compared to 95 for a 190/50.
now a 190/55 will have a profile of 104.5 so it should steer quicker and also offer a greater contact patch. obviously tyre weight will have an impact too.
for whats its worth the 190/55 should ideally be on a 6 inch rim, not a 5.5 .

I know this, it's why I have a 6" mag at the rear :)
Edited to say that even with a 6" rim and a 190/50, it steers far quicker than a 180 on a 5.5" ally rim

yes really got to go down the lighter wheels route sometime soon, does seem that the 6 inch/190 route seems preferable over the 5.5/180. probably more so as power increases.

Go for it mate, its the single biggest improvement oyu can make to the bike! Mine only ended up costing me 600 quid, as I managed to flog my ally 5 spokes for over 600 on ebay
DJT - found the same thing on Rennsports regardless of tyre pressures. Switched to 207GP and latterly pulled the head angle back. Steers far quicker but nervous on fast sweepers, with a gentle wag on the bars when on the gas at fairly big speeds (run an Ohlins damper set on the soft side).

Just a thought, what is your ride height ?
