Anyway,can anyone tell me what this connector is for under the seat??

According to the owners manual, it's a diagnosis connector. ;)

Skip,you cheeky antipodean twunt !! Always rubber up when Eds about..
Scrapes are from something rubbing under the seat,just in the middle of a bit of a spruce up to get the old girl back on the road.Not ridden the duke for about a year !!! Been having too much fun on this:
