After getting a nasty scratch on my tank I am replacing my stick on plastic "Carbon" tank protector with a hard carbon fibre one shaped to the tank which will cover a bigger area.
What is the best way to stick it to the tank?

Silicon sealant worked best for me.
Spend some time making it fit first; use a hair dryer to heat the carbon so you soften it slightly and bend it to fit snug all round.
I agree, apply some heat to the tank guard with a hair dyrer and use silicone sealant. Once bonded it will not budge!
Best of luck.

Thanks guys.
I've no other use for a hair dryer these days so might as well make use of it for this.

Searchs under the stairs......I know I've got a tube of silicone somewhere.
Good news I've found it, only a quater used.
Bad news I've left the lid off. I've now got one solid block of silicon. Drat!
Off to the shops.

Ha! Exactly the same thing happened to mine when I went to use it the other day. The lid was on but I think it was a few years old so it had all set. Mind you, I didn't realise until I'd nearly broken my fingers trying to pump it through!
