Its not the first time and i doubt it will be the last but once again this weekend I found myself held up in two of the races by slower class A bikes when I say slower I mean that my class B bike did not have the speed into or out of corners or on the straights to make a safe clean pass on the class A bikes,as they are faster in a straight line so reached the corners sooner and were faster out if that makes any sense!!!

Its easy to say get off the line quicker so your in front but class A bikes tend to have a little more straight line speed and can pull in front.

I think its time that class A had its own grid and class B its own grid, with class A bikes having a 10 second start on the class B or something along those lines after all if a Class B bike can catch a class A with a 10 second start then it will have the speed to pass it safely maybe its something the race committee could look into for next year ?

Any thoughts comments ?

I said the very same after Anglesey, depending on track length 5 to 10 second start for class A

2 things:

1) won't that put the slower A class into the way of the battling front B class
2) won't that mean more B class getting lapped and maybe losing track time

Move up to class A. ;)

Scrap class A and allow tuning to the max on class B, with full grids. :D

I don't think dumping the newer bikes is the way to go! best have a power to weight rule & just one class.

I don't think I could handle more than the 50 BHP I already have.

Now that's a good idea. But I'll let someone else do the math!

ok if you have deep pockets or strong mechanical knowledge, but for numpties like me closer to std the better

Some sort of way to merge A and B bikes would be a good way of getting full grids.

However I do like having two different championships. 1 for novice and 1 for serious peeps. Would like to see that element retained.

Mark.

PS 5/10 seconds headstart is not really going to shorten the race for the backmarkers.

Maybe if we take it in turn to wear an eye patch for a race or remove the front brake lever?
I would still love to do a LeMan start.

thought someone must have removed mine when I tried to stop at Park race 2!

maybe not mark but a few further up the mid pack maybe, especially these really long races at places like brands where is as much as 6 secs between fast A and mid B, in fact I think all bar the front 5 were lapped by Neil at brands this year - he would have lapped the leader...even with only 50 hp ;)

He lapped everyone but Hugh and me in Race 1, and everyone except me, Kev and Jimbo in Race 2 (though don't mention the 10 sec penalty and Hugh being lapped!). He would have lapped me in both races with just a 5 sec headstart.

After my "holiday" from racing this weekend I could really use those points that were robbed from me due to those class A boys being so quick!

Skidz dont suppose I could persuade you to give us those 3 points... dont worry about the missing silverware ;) .

Just make class A bikes run touring tyres ... or allow slicks on class B bikes :saint:
