You sure its the speedo itself and not the speed sensor fitted to the rear caliper mount.

Hi
Thanks for your reply
I do think that it is the speedo, but will clean up the area around the sensor.

As skids says deffo check the sensor and check all your fuses too. Plus wiring, if you get a short on the same circuit it will stop the clocks working. I think the rear light is on the same circuit

I replaced the Speed sensor on my 1000SS several weeks ago as the Speedo wasn't working. Did some diagnostic tests and the readings from the working (good) sensor are different from those of the faulty sensor. It's more than just a wiring fault its the sensor itself

Had the speedo fail on my S4r, changed the sensor and they still didn't work. It turned out I had plugged the cables back in wrongly on the rear light. If there a short on the same circuit the clocks won't work. Worth a try before dishing out 100 plus on a new sensor. The clocks, brake light and horn are also on the same fuse from memory

The link I put up for Franco a few days ago was £7.99

Really, Ducati Manc quoted just over 100 when I asked, unless they got the wrong part. It was over the phone. I got one from the states for 30 quid which still is over the top considering your price. I thought 100 was a bit over the top for a magnet and some wires

Hi

Have cleaned the area and the sencor, lights working all o.k, but it does look as if some one has been playing with the clocks, so this could be the fault.

It looks as if I may have to get some new clocks then.

Thats not going to be cheap as NEW clocks cost a rather large packet of folding stuff. I would certainly be eliminating everything else first

As the clocks are coded to the Keys and in turn the ECU is coded to the clocks its not easy just to borrow a set to try as you need to borrow the complete package
