As some of you are aware Straightliners had a run what you brung at Thorney Island over this weekend. Well I can only say that it was the best £20 I have spent in a long while. What an experience, and so addictive to. Sad to see that as far as I could see, I seem to be the only DSC running, and Stu with his 748r and Murry Mint running yesterday. Boys and girls you must put in your calenders for next year, it a definite for me.
So any way heres how i got on, after the first run nerves its all about getting off the line clean.
First run 11.60 / 105 mph
Best run 10.90 / 134 mph
Not bad for a standard 998bp and my very first try at a drag strip.
Bring on next year and some DSC competition
Kev
I would have been there but I'm recovering from 'flu. :barfy:
Might even have entered the RWYB! :D
Good for you, Kev!
I was watching Kev, was that you on the yella 998 getting loads of air on your first run?
Was going to have a go, but.....

Stuart did a 10.93 at 129mph - not bad for a standard 748R.
Best £20 ive spent in a long while
Nah - that was the last time you bought me breakfast at Winchester :frog:

Loz, there was a scoot running the strip.... showed up a 'bua for the first 100yrds too!
Sorry kev, thought you'd turned into Yella-Leader for mo! I know which 1 you were now. Respect for that time tho. We'll have to go for a sub 10sec run next year... anyone got a 999RS??
If the club will offer to buy me a new clutch, I'll give you a sub-10 second quarter!
Kev - Al says that was a really good time - if you want to join him on some RWYB days let him know.

Loz no clutch damage, infact no real wear to speak of. Only the tyre which was on the wear bars anyway.
Whats your next excuse ?

Give me time, Kev, I'll have one ready. Failing that, I'll do the run! After all, it can't be any harder than using any of the roundabouts on the A27 Chichester by-pass, can it?
:bouncy:
Are you at Cadwell on 16 Aug?
