I want to know if ive got the right front sprocket, before giggleing around and taking off the original,
i first noticed that the sproket on my 996r is retained by a lerge nut as opposed to the regular two bolt through a plate on the other models, os this has made me suspicious as to if i have the wrong one, althoght the spline seems the same???

i cant seem to find a web site that i can check this part number of a rental sprocket i have for a regular 996 to see if its the same.

can anyone help? part no is 344--525-14p

Mate, the later type final drive front sprocket is held on with a large nut and lock washer.

The old style used two bolts and a plate.

the 344-***-** is for the regular Ducati' using a splined lock plate. I can't remember the part number suffix for the 'stretta motor but it is a different sprocket. It doesn't have the raised boss on the back either.
Drop me a mail with chain size and teeth required and I'll find the part number for you.

basically i just want the correct 14 tooth front sprocket for a 525 chain. just fitted a 37 t rear and so going the one up on the rear will hopefully put the hub back in the right place???!!!???
