I'd rather stick with a couple of beers and fall asleep watching The Great Escape.

Apparently Steve did all the stunts himself.

I've heard that is an urban myth - I saw a documentary a while back that stated that McQueen did not do the jump (although he did most or all of the other stuff).

you were there, i was there... myself and others asked you specific questions, you answered them as an organiser/part of the breakaway series...

you were touted by Mike Winter as being part of the breakaway group, you, butch, AK, the guy on the floor (apologies i missed who he was) and Mike...

I was sober as i only had 1 beer.

Did I really do something stupid like take a morning off ?. I should have known better !

Steve. Direct question to put an end to this. Are you categorically stating here that the people you list are all members of the breakaway group ? If so this is a public statement and we (the MT) will have no alternative but to investigate this serious allegation and report our findings to the membership.

The whole sorry affair has to be sorted out and a line drawn under it.

I'm not personally interested at this point what brake discs Domininc used last season, if anybody was that bothered about it they should have put in a protest during the season.

What I am bothered about is that all this has done no good to the club.

We (the MT) already have information about the meeting which took place at Cadwell behind closed doors, excluding the MT/RC, ironically the alleged orchestrators of this meeting are the very same people who are constantly using the same old "openness and transparency" mantra.

Well for my money anybody who wants to trust such a fine example of "openness and transparency" are welcome to join that group in their new series. It will be interesting to see who will stand up and be accountable when things go wrong. Not my problem thank goodness.

To set the record straight, at no time prior to or subsequent to the Cadwell meeting did any representative of that "group" lobby the MT/RC. They have not extended us the courtesy of even providing a list of their demands.

You (the riders) however were all invited to submit questions for the rider survey and all were included in the survey that ALL riders subsequently had emailed to them. Ironically the very person who bleated on and on about why it was taking so long for the survey to be finalised didn't even bother to fill it in and return it. Funny old world innit ?

The other thing that you, the members of this club have soon, (18th November) is a meeting where we can discuss what we want to do for next year, it will be open and transparent. (further details will be posted here shortly and in the next issue of Pronto)

So maybe time to lock this thread webteam and send any further information by email. The MT will investigate all your allegations fairly and will publish their findings in due course. It is a pity it has all come to this but we've now been given no choice.

My statement is this.

At the meeting, Mike Winter informed all in the room that Chass, Dom, Ak, Graham Butcher, Mike himself, and the random guy that they were all members of the breakaway group.

Amazingly out of the 30+ witnesses who were also present, they all seem to have missed it or have forgotten with mass amnesia.

Steve,

Please be very clear and unambiguous about this because you've just named a couple of people in that list who I count as friends.

If this is indeed true then I am really sorry and I have misjudged this situation completely. By that I don't include Domski and Chass as they are doing enough to hang themselves anyway but there are others who I wouldn't have wanted to be sanctioned by the club. By the way there are people supporting what you say, they just don't want to get involved, quite understandably.

The MT will have to take an all or nothing approach I'm afraid - this will be the club's strongest test yet.

Still it's just made my mind up about a couple of things :(

Dave the only baffling thing to me is that i'm the only person standing here and saying it. It's confusing beyond comprehension.

These were Mike W's EXACT words (apart from not calling him Random bloke on the floor ;) )

i couldn't be any more confused by the lack of input from the other 30+ people in there.

Webteam, please lock/close/whatever this thread now.

Any process from this point forward should not be for public consumption - my last word anyway! :(
