Trip Full

Just in case any other 'newbies' are interested...

The trip is 'officially' full again, but as Dom advised, i've put my name down on the reserve list, cos circumstances will change for some peeps...

So, who knows...

As i've only done 1 track day before, i would love to join you guys in Espana, especially as it is looking increasingly likely that my ugly mug will be making an appearance in this year's DD Series!
(not that anyone will ever see it, probably only my arse... when come up to lap me!)

Can't believe what good value this trip is!

I initially looked at putting my 'track day' toe in the water 2 years ago & was looking at 3 days in Brno for a lot more than this!

So come on, drop out, the lot of ya!  ;)

Dear All, have just logged on to find billions of PMs about Guadix. Please address all enquiries to info@racedays.net to be sure of getting a reply! Also we are still awaiting the return of the majority of the hotel and tyre forms. If we haven't received the form we will assign the rooms arbitrarily. And finally, very few of the returned forms have requested tyres. 3 days is a long time on what is now a quite grippy/abrasive circuit. We will not be holding a stock of tyres so please be sure you will have enough rubber!..

Thanks G

you can never have enough rubber/s! :o

Ti

PS: yeah, sent email to info@racedays & got myself put on the 'reserve', reserve list!

Nice one Phil :D

tiamo69 15-Jan-2007 12:32

Guadix - place still available...

Unfortunately, i will not now be able to join you all in Guadix. Gutted :(

I've spoken to the guys that I'll be racing with & they have confirmed that the bike will not be ready for race testing before March.

Therefore, with regret, it would not be worth me going to Guadix. Although the track time would be immensely useful to me as an in-experienced rider, it wouldn't be very beneficial, without being able to get to grips with the actual bike I'll be riding (testing settings etc).

As my adopted motto goes... Ce Sera, Sera!

Anyone still interested in going should contact 'Racedays' & 'dickieducati'....Enjoy!

See you all at the meeting on the 10th.

Phil

ducati dad 15-Jan-2007 16:04

I am sure that allthegearnoidea was up for this.

TP 15-Jan-2007 16:13

Gerry @ Racedays is running a reserve list. I'm sure there's people still on it queued up ready to go.

final_edition 15-Jan-2007 16:17

Anyone had info on the delivery/drop off dates for the bikes?

domski 15-Jan-2007 16:19

You will be contacted shortly :)

Oh, with the **** instruction and poor mechanics

racedays 15-Jan-2007 18:44

No, this is the one where everyone makes their minds up, and sticks to it. Gets their hotel and tyre requests in on time and actually reads the part on our website that says 'full instructions will be issued 4 weeks prior to the event'. :D

Holly from Motofreight, whose job it is, will be contacting everyone individually this week to arrange your particular transport requests.

I'm sooooo looking forward to this!! Seriously - it's gonna be great fun!;)

multi600 15-Jan-2007 22:42

I got the phone call tonight transport now sorted:D :D :D

fun and games

I've been thinking how we can pad the 3 days out (when we're not building igloos or feeling sad because our instructors are just like, so not the best, sniff...and I thought riding in GPs and WSB meant you were quite good.. .) Anyhow, Iain Waine - our regular 'alrightish - but gutted not to be the best' mechanical assistant is going to come up and take care of our vid cam bike. As long as everyone's happy to put into a kitty to cover the costs Iain should be able to get an individual vid of everyone in actiono! Which will be nice! He's raced IOM, MRO, British and the NW200 and has been known to give Mike 'Spike' Edwards a run - so he's fairly competent on a bike! May have trouble staying with Dom though...

And following up on a previous thread we should be able to run a few sessions with practice starts for those who would like to. This would be particularly handy for any Novice racers as you'll be able to get the real 'first corner' experience. Parp. If we've got our new GPS Dataloggers we'll get them into action as well. Wow, the scrap books will be bulging!

And finally, a brief Geography numba! Cartagena is generally regarded as the warmest track in Spain due to it's proximity to the sea. Almeria is probably the driest but is higher = cooler. Guadix is about a whole 500 ft higher than Almeria I think = 1 degree cooler and at about 45 minutes distance isn't exactly in a different weather zone! Bring a jumper and sunblock!

tiamo69 16-Jan-2007 10:31

Gerry, stop trying to tempt me to change my mind! ;)

I have a friend who is retired, but into bikes and would like to come along for a jolly, but don't know whether it's going to be boring for him during the day when we're on track.
any other peeps going to watch???

what are the facilities like there - is there a cafe, bar, somewhere to thaw out etc?

racedays 16-Jan-2007 18:06

No Cafe I'm afraid, just a coffee machine at the moment - the viewings pretty good from the roof terrace though and he can get onto the perimeter road okay to watch the fast bits.

Is it next to the motorway then?

racedays 16-Jan-2007 20:55

Of course, life in that part of Spain revolves around the Motorway. Pubs, restaurants, hotels - everything else is, well scarily empty. Bring your compasses and don't turn the wrong way out of the track if it's a full moon!

domski 16-Jan-2007 20:58

Which way is the wrong way??? :o
