Samco tank breathers

Sharpy G 05-May-2009 19:05

just swapping the front caliper bolts for the Probolt Ti Racespec ones saves a total of 136 grams !!!!

Wow ! now it's so much easier to push around the garage ;)

andyb 05-May-2009 19:06

swannymere 05-May-2009 21:02

new levers

2 Attachment(s)
JHP rear brake lever & Corse race pattern gear lever, freshly anodised black and now fitted with some very nice 'Corse' Titanium/Nylon toe pegs, courtesy of www.ducatiracesupport.com

and the Moto Corse rear underslung brake hanger now also looks far more stealthy too ;)

Sharpy G 07-May-2009 21:09

Corse rearsets

2 Attachment(s)
I know, probably a little 'anal' ;) but I've always liked attention to detail and I think the Corse Rearsets look much better mounted with the spacers now in black too ! :)

Sharpy G 09-May-2009 09:55

Probolt Titanium bolts (and nuts)

4 Attachment(s)
a 'not very heavy' package arrived from Probolt yesterday

Ti race spec bolts for the master cylinder mounts, steering damper mounts, rear brake caliper, chain adjuster block (spindle puller ;)) and rear wheel speed sensor.

Ti bolts & nuts for the rear subframe mounts

Ti front fork pinch bolts

Ti heel guard mount bolts & nuts

not only light, very light, .................... but soooooo pretty ;)

DOH ! dropped the bloody o ring from the steering damper mount down the back of the fairings last night so gotta take it all back off this morning ! LOL

Still, gives me an excuse to fit the subframe bolts ! ;)

Sharpy G 10-May-2009 22:09

Well.........today the sun was out, so, so was I ! LOL

and our 2 days away from 7 months baby boy decided to give the baby R a go too !!

many thanks to Doogalman and Flo' for his 'leathers'

hope you all had a good Ducati day !

Hayden, hangin' off ! ;)

Sharpy G 17-May-2009 21:13

started fitting the new rear brake setup this evening

I have to say, I am very pleased with how it looks so far ! :)

The bike is just.... well, not enough words for it!! :);)

How do you compare the monoblocs compared to the standard radials? Are you using same discs as before?

Once you're done with the rear brake, please comment on that too.

Thanks :)

thanks !

the monoblocs certainly appear to have more initial bite than the standard radials, was worried they were a bit 'wooden' to start with, but that went off as the pads bedded in. Im using the Brembo fully floating WSB discs with them now tho'

Will comment on the rear brake for you too once it's on and bled, and this terrential rain stops so I can get out ;) LOL

Sharpy G 24-May-2009 23:27

finally finished fitting up the new rear brake set up and disc

really pleased with the 'look', it bled up really easily, swapped the rear brake lever for a corse style one from Bungi, and even had enuff time to fit the DP foam race seat pad before we headed over to Doogalman & Florences BBQ

Hopefully the sun will be out again tomorrow and I can go and test it out :)

We managed, not without with some gnashing of teeth & a couple of bolts made of 'formaggio' to fit my Magnesium headlamp casing

very nice it looks too !

I even made up the carbon mirrors later

So here's to my New Years resolution of fitting the stuff I've bought instead of just keeping it in boxes

Oh yeah, and getting out and riding more in '08

cheers Doog's !!

'Felice Anno Nuovo' to one and all !

Sharpy,

How long did it take you to fit the Magnesium Headlight bucket? Can you re use the bolts from the standard housing? I have the bucket just waiting to get some time off to fit it!

A lot longer than we thought ! LOL
You can use the original bolts, if you can get them out without them rounding off as they are made of cheese !!!!

Couple of hours I think in the end, ACF50 it before you put it on, inside and out to avoid corrosion too ;)

Sharpy G 08-Jun-2009 21:09

Moto Rapido called today to say my new sprockets are finally in !!!
So the forged mags, pirelli BSBs, RK gold xring chain and revised gearing shudn't be too far away now ! :D

Putney 08-Jun-2009 22:06

Did your housing come in two pieces? can you fit one side at a time?

Yes it's in two halves, but u fit all the lights etc inside the two halves first then bolt em together then fit to the bike

Putney 08-Jun-2009 22:56

Thanks for the tip. I have ordered the ACF50!

I am at Motorapdio on the 18th getting new alarm and suspension set up.

Sharpy G 14-Jul-2009 16:20

Latest updates, now fitted both the Gold Forged Mag wheels, the new sprockets/gearing and gold x-ring chain, and at the weekend the newly painted nosecone, screen, carbon seat and mirror cowels, to job by Altamura in Farnboro', very pleased with the finish and all the little detail touches :D

oh yeah.............all that and purchased a new addition for my dream garage ;)

Sharpy G 14-Jul-2009 16:21

Mad Dog Bianchi 17-Jul-2009 17:02

do you get Eco Points for using that much carbon. Maybe you can swap them with a coal plant or something.

BTW, are you going to tell us how much this set you back (may have missed that as I jumped to page 51 right away).

Nice looking, very light on the bling.

LOL :D

I'm not paying carbon offset that's for sure ! ;)

No, I'm not saying what it all cost, because if I sat down an worked it all out I'd probably give myself a heart attack LOL

but I did get good deals on most of the stuff I've done ;)

thanks for the comp. tho'
