I'm a Professional Inventory Clerk, I provide professional services to Landlords and Letting Agents.

Afte years of working for Estate Agents I got sick of the long hours, abuse from Landlords and Tenants and crap pay so I decided to start my own business.

I've been running Maple inventories for a year now and although I still work long hours with crap pay its the best feeling in the world being my own boss and working from home.

I even get thanked for the work I do which makes it all worth while! :D

Telecoms engineer man and boy!!!!

12 years in the Royal Signals - joined as a sprog at 16 as an RTG (Mostly brilliant, but I was lucky with my postings.....)

2 years at Vodafone as a field engineer till the bean counters got involved and laid most of us off - I was told by a director that I was fine, then I had a phone call at about 6 p.m. while in the pub to tell me that "you were told the wrong information".....Tossers...I'm with Orange now funnily enough.....

2 years as a 3G base station field engineer - enjoyable but for the F. off big green van I had to drive around...all for a laptop and a signal generator......Just the ticket when you have to commission a site on a roof top in Oxford street.....Not.

9 months contracting at a big new round place in Cheltenham....Sssshhhhh........:ninja:

Now I find myself working in Iraq! Our company provides comms solutions for the MOD. Do about 6 weeks on and then about 2 weeks back home. Good laugh as most of us are ex forces and it pays the bills (by quite a bit which is the only reason I am doing it.....). So far have kept all my body parts intact.......:o

Technical Director of Mobile content company. Get around a bit, been to LA, Moscow, Paris, Brazil, primarily based in London.

Before that worked as Infrastructure Manager for London Fire (120 sites with Siemens PABX's, Cisco - pah! VoIP, LAN, WAN, Networking Comms - Radio, landline), and prior to that Motorola, Galileo, BT - Networking.

In it since I left school, many, many, many less grey hairs ago.

Fascinating thread this, seems like a lot of people work in telecommunications.

Me, - at times I feel like an inspector for the central reservation of the M25, - there is a tiny kids teddy just along from junction 13, clockwise right now, saw it last week.

Actually I am lucky to work in the best industry in the world, - the education of kids industry. I advise schools and LEA’s on how to integrate computers and technology into teaching curriculum, which in reality means I am a translator; I convert techie waffle into teacher speak. At one end of the scale I get to work with schools that get placed in “special measures” or “serious weakness” by the OFSTED baffoons, on the other end I get to work with private junior schools charging £20,000 a year fees.
