Are theer any forks that will match the dook ones which only have 10 clicks? If not, it must be something inside?? |
RickyX Why not ring Maxton, they are dead helpful from my experience and may well have a record of what was done to that particular bike if you know the previous owners name who had the work done. When they did my last set of forks their reccommended settings were different to the factory handbbok settings. The previous owner should have kept a record of these if he had any sense. Also bear in mind that Maxton may have set the forks up for either a 17 stone fatty like me, or some waif like 7 stone nymphette so may not be correct for you either. |

BDG: I rang Maxton and agree with point 1 - excellent! Regarding point 2 - he didn't have any! Regarding 3 - 10.5 stone - does that make me a nymphette?? Seriously though - they were very helpful and unfortunately had no record of the previous owner - maybe it was the guy before that? Unfortunately, there are no external signs that the conversion has been done - according to Maxton the only way to check is to strip 'em. Richard at Maxton said to turn both adjusters all the way in and then back out 6 clicks. Then at least both will be equal. During the winter I will send them off to Maxton for a service and then they can check what's inside. The joys of buying used equipment!!! Cheers, Richard |
