at least you lot were just stripping the bike down, i had to strip myself down last year :(

into garage to fill up with petrol, locked tank and dropped key into inside pocket of one piece as usual then into pay. back outside and no sign of key in pocket or anywhere, checked everywhere in leathers/near pumps/ in kiosk etc with mate helping, still no sign :(

undid leathers and dropped them as far as deceny would allow but still no sign. starting to panic now thinking someone had picked it up. Finally went for last option and took boots/leathers off and checked everything :o key was eventually found tucked in velcro in lining of leathers near knee armour!!

a very worrying and embarassing time :rolleye::lol:

Yep. I've done it too!

Was on a tour of the Isle of Skye and we'd stopped for fuel. Couldn't see the key anywhere, even after removing the fairing sides. There was luckily a few of us so we lowered the bike over to one side and shook like mad. Fortunately we just got site of it and managed to fish it out with a bit of wire. Took about 30-60 mins though. :(

Still only using the key, but a lot more careful these days. I do have a rubber key fob, so I'll try it out.

You know where to look then next time.

I've not dropped the key yet, but i've dropped that little washer on the seat end of the tank down through the suspension strut (twice).
