Yes I am talking about Bob Hill's I called Duacti yesterday about local dealers and they told me that Bob Hill would not be an official Ducati dealer after December. I did not ask why but remembering this post, I would be fed up if I'd just taken the time and touble to find a dealer only to find that a month later they were not

Just to be clear, I'm also not a "dealer".
Cornerspeed is an independant business, with no official ties to Ducati other than I buy parts from them :P

I thought that Ducati were making a push for Ducati only dealerships and were consolidating their presence in the UK.

So maybe if Bob wasn't going to stop selling Hondas, Suzukis et al, then Ducati may have pulled the plug - just my opinion.

I think you're right Rattler - Ducati does seem to be going the solus route.

As for Bob Hills, I had mine serviced there as it's final one just before it went out of warranty and they did a good job. I live in Chelmsford so Bob Hills is a good 40 mile trek, even though Ron Parkinson was 10 miles up the road...

During the services at Bob Hills, they pulled the cams to check for flaking of the rockers and only charged me an hour extra. I also had some fuelling problems that they sorted out under warranty, even though I was running 50mm Termis with a JHP chip. It spent two days in there in total and they let me have a monster (with 137 miles on it!) while mine was in there.

So yes, they did a great job at the time. Total cost was £580 inc for the 12K service which included the rocker check and a new fuel chip.

However, once the warranty was out I took it to TecMoto for it's next service and it turned out that the (then) mechanic was Tim who had previously worked at Bob Hills, so the bike had the same mechanic but just through a different place!

TecMoto has since changed hands and I have been told that the mechanic there is now Paul who was at Ron Parkinson until it closed last month.

Didn't know that - when did this happen (pre/post fire?) who owns this now?

My experience of Bob Hill has not been positive, although I have never had my Duke serviced there, I have tried to order parts. They were frankly very unhelpful.

I had a Suzuki RF900R serviced there about 6 years ago, for which they charged a fortune, and the bike came back filthy and with a scratched fairing.

Avoid!

I've seen the good reports about Cornerspeed but they might be just a little far from Stevenage.

Ta,

Colin. :)

You have U2U :D
