Is Tim back yet? he was off to Jamaica wasn't he?

We were talking about Brazil earlier .. I haven't checked flight prices for them yet but will do ...

Not sure where Tim went - I thought it was to auction with 'my' panel ...

Funny that, give him the panel, never to be seen or heard of again.... Hmmm

Phuket, Thailand gets my vote every time for a relaxing sunny hol.

Flights might be the tricky part, but accomodation, food, drink and souvenirs very cheap. Lots of beaches and activities for the kids.

My work means I've stayed in a lot of hotels over the years but the Meridien Yacht Club (south side of Phuket) is definitely in my global top 3. With 4 kids the budget might not be realistic here (especially as rates double in December), but sunset dinner on the deck is an absolute must.

u2u me if you want more info (or you could even talk to me at the drinks next week!)

cheers, Chi

Sorry...got to disagree with all these big time Asia type holidays. You are thinking of adults! Save that for you and Ange and romance.
The kids want a beach and the sun and some interesting buildings.
Greece...your eldest son would have just done his topic on the greek Legends and will be into the Minotaur, mosaics and the byzantines etc
The greeks love kids...the taverners are open till whatever time you leave and the family feeling is Fantastic.
Also, if you take your kids to such fantastic places HOW are they gonna appreciate them with their limited understanding and empathy...AND what dreams will they have when they are uni and want to travel?
Also it's only Europe...short flights, Ange wont be hassled by trying to keep the kids organised in the departure lounge and it will be cheap, you'll save yourself a few grand and the kids will remember it for the family time it is.

:)

Sorry, just adding some extra thoughts...I have a lad in my class who has been everywhere with his grandparents.
He's 7 years old and Just come back from Mexico.
I asked him what he did. ALL he could remember was playing on the beach and being by the pool. Grandma obviously had a different story.
He came back from Rio last september...and ALL he could remember was the beach and the pool.
That travelling experience with Grandma and Grandpa REALLY enriched his life and his understanding of the world!;)

Went to Brazil Oct 2003 (Air France £760) also try a company called Journey Latin America for good holiday deals.

Just got back from Cuba £1100 flight and accomodation (Havana & Trinidad) again via Journey Latin America...

Brazil & Cuba are hot this time of year, both cheap as chips once you are there, Brazil is stupidly cheap.

Florida ...

... go visit Mickey - they'll love it

Sit the kids in front of the TV, give Ange a grand to go shopping and pamper herself and buy a decent race bike with the remainder.....you know it's the right thing to do. As soon as you step off the plane in England, you'll wish you had a lovely race bike to go home to.

She'll understand mate:lol:

Cuba might be one to check out. Went there last year and if you want you can split the holiday into two experiences - first week live like (and with) the locals by staying in Havana or Trinidad or even further south, and then in the second week do an "all inclusive" beach resort where everything is laid on.

MJS 17-Nov-2004 07:52

Cuba's the one.... we're planning to go in February... unless we go somewhere else :puzzled:
