Kev just a thought, i presume you've factored in the cost of shipping it across from the states, but what about import duty and VAT. Not to sure on this one BUT i think Customs & Excise take the book value of what the vehicle is worth here rather than what you pay to avoid fictious claims on the value. Might be worth a call to Customs & Excise just to check. Also believe that even if it was on the register in the States as accident damaged it would not appear on register over here. Many moons ago i came across someone who imported accident damaged stuff from the States for this very reason. Like the reference to the odd blemish:lol: |

Doesn't come into it Shaun as he lives in Seattle works for a well known software company there (does depend on how you define work) Very useful for buying bits on Ebay that are "ship to USA only" He was the first of my mates to start club racing when he lived over here, it was real fun and kept me very busy being his mechanic. When he heard the other day that I may possibly get made redundent he instantly offfered to pay for my flight over to his place and stay with him for a while. |
