An impact driver is something you hit the end of with a big hammer which then turns very slowly and shifts very tight nuts etc.

Someone said the other day (yesterday?) that they used a off-the-battery impact driver successfully for this.

Looking at the list in the ebay link, even the chunky DeWalt DW056 has a max torque rating of 1170 in-lbs = 97.5 lb-ft = 132 Nm according to my phone calculator.

Sounds like that'd struggle to me.

Well, I think you are talking about me. :bouncy:

Like I said. I have no problem with mine. When Im finished, I re torque with my hand wrench.:smug: All correct setting etc.

Its horses for courses innit? I will let you guys get on with it!:smug::lol:

To undo the sprocket nut......leave bike on side stand. Standing on the wheel side of the rear, put your right foot on the brake, lie your body weight over the seat, and with your right hand hold the socket on the sprocket nut, with your left hand pulling the wrench (I use my torque bar turned right up) feel the nut undo!
You do have to feel it as the nut is not very wide. Worked for me every time............

BTW, B&Q don't list a single impact wrench.

Argos use to do a 1/2" one that plugged into a car lighter socket or across a battery and Machine Mart also did one.
