Sadly, it's the latest way to make easy money now everyone's wise to premium rate calls etc. Ringtones are massive business, and there's a fair few sharks in the water.

If you get any grief over cancellation, go to your cellular provider.

You can also get premium text services barred along with premium number if you like ( provider cannot refuse this apparently.

yep, this happened with my daughters mobile, in the end i just snapped her sim card in half and got her another one.....as KB says its unreasonable to expect kids to read the conditions of the ad`s on channels such as cartoon network !

Don't Cartoon Network have some responsibility here? Surely they know their audience demographic? Must be some sort of regulatory body for these channels. Sounds like a job for Watchdog.

Just had exactly the same problem, spoke to a chap at Jammster who confirmed we had put a stop on the phone and even refunded the cost of the text messages
