There was another case earlier this week, an asylum seeker with no licence and insurance
killed a teenager then drove off. He was caught and ended up with a two month sentence, had he had a licence and been prosecuted for death by dangerous driving he could have received a maximum sentence of 14yrs………and they have the nerve to call it the justice system :flame:

Agreed, however that is supposing that there was evidence of dangerous driving in the first instance.
( There is no requirement for a person prosecuted for Death by dangerous driving to be the holder of a valid driving licence. )
If that cannot be shown, then the most you will be able to go for is due care / fail to stop & associated document offences.
There is a promise of a new offence of causing death by careless driving in the new Parliament however that offence is not on the statutes yet.

In the industry I work in it would be considered dangerous to use a piece of machinery you had not been properly trained for and gained the appropriate operating ticket, amounts to the same thing really. The promise of a new offence will come a little late for the victims and families affected by cases like this and will never see true justice done for there losses.

I hate to say it, but a member of my family has NEVER had tax, insurance, MOT or a legal car or bike. He buys old bangers from dodgy blokes in pubs (last time it was a fiesta he swapped for 200 fags). He runs them round until they break down then he leaves them at the side of the road. He has been caught by the police loads of times. He either gives false name/address or if they suss him, he goes to court and pleads poverty. He thinks WE are the idiots, being ripped off by insurance companies. When we argue about the consequences of hitting someone when uninsured he says "there's an insurance scheme victims can claim from if hit by an uninsured driver". It's caused huge family rows and I now no longer see him (last time we came to blows over this). The point of this rant is his total fines so far come to less than my insurance for one year. It's a f*****g joke.

Tell me something I don't know....
You don't get to break the news to them face to face, I do.

I want to say something, but i am totaly speechless what is the legal system coming to, i think its time for a shake up on crime and punishment.

Just remember before you ask for something, make doubly sure that you want it in the first place.
