 Who's choice is that? You go ahead and enjoy it Nick, I envy you for doing it but if it's gonna detract from me doing everything else count me out. As for having the pleasure of club activity I get that EVERY weekend in the form of Berks/Kent, Hant, Sussex and Surrey regional meets and ride outs, as well as the 3 or 4 track days I can squeeze in through the year (good luck Gary and Catherine, I'll be supporting your business venture as a customer) with fellow DSC members and the occasional ride out to see other DSC members on their trackdays. MY CHOICE! ;) I'm sure you will get plenty of willing spectators but I'd rather put £12 towards a day riding my own bike round the shires than watching somebody else ride theirs, I'm usually not interested in attending race meetings and I was only interested in this (and the few club meets I've been to in the past) because it is some of my mates doing it and I might have wanted to do it next year. |
Probably more like £aaaagghghhghghhrrrr!!!! would be closer to the mark, and my engine hasn't even blown up yet! Anyway, back to Ray's points... I think both entertainers and entertainees will be mingling in the paddock before the races so will be able to meet up over a cup of my coffee and wander off en mass to watch the battle. I'm sure we'll try'n camp as close together as poss, but reserve the right to banish serial snoorers to the other end of the paddock, or even a couple of postcodes away! |
Pay your £12 you tight gits:lol: Once in, the whole paddock area is open so you can chat to any racer, look close up at their bikes etc. Pretty much the only time not to do this is when you see they are preparing to race, ie kit on, This applies very much to the DSC boys as well. I've had loads of you come to watch me and Monty racing and it's really brilliant to get support and know you have people you know watching you, BUT, please leave them alone when it's time for them to race, don't hang about their area when they are getting themselves mentally prepared unless they ask you to. I know it will be tempting to stand in the paddock watching them get ready to go out, but certainly for me, I need some time to myself, it's not being rude, it's just that they're about to do something they've never done before and they'll either want to be alone, or have their team/trusted friends around them, not half the DSC. If you're riding to Cadwell, th epaddock will be full of vans, caravans, truck and tents. You may be able to park near a friends van/tent etc, but depending on how many racers there are at the meeting, space will be at a premium and you'll end up having to park in a field, so bring a stand puck/beer can so your bike is still upright when you get back. Wish I could be there, have fun. WeeJohnyB |
So exactly what is the DSC spending on the DesmoDue series, apart from organisational time from the MT and DesmoDue team, which you have such a problem with Psychlist? And what would you rather "spend" this money on? Believe me, we ain't getting jack from the club in terms of cash. It's the damn hard work of people like Chris and Michael (to name but two) that have managed to pull this together. Do you also think that the club shouldn't organise trackdays because not everyone can participate? Obviously my view on this is biased because I've made my choice, paid my money (yes PAID to race!) and I will defend the series, but I'm interested to hear why you feel it is necessary to constantly snipe at the series. |
Boys, c'mon - all have a look at what WJB wrote - all what you need to do & know:) C |
I'm happy to donate my unused extra entry tickets to the DSC, to be handed out to other members who want to spectate. In fact (sniff, sniff) I will be going to Cadwell on my tod so there's 3 tickets in the pot already. Any one like to be chief collector and distributor of unused tickets?? I would offer - but I'm far too busy calibrating wing nuts and dialling in flanges right now :D:D |

Problem? no!!! Get real :P I refute your remarks sir :o And, in the interests of keeping the public face one of decorum, you have a U2U "mate" ;) Edited to add that I am not constantly sniping at the "series" but I WILL respond when I see something silly going on (like the "You have mail" thread) which has happened more than once! So there :P [Edited on 6-4-2005 by psychlist] |

I usually only get 3 tickets allocated to me as a rider and more often than not I need one for myself to get in. For the first meeting I have asked for Sponsor tickets for my mate Scott at Reservoir cogs who has helpedme out with a few parts at a cheap as chips price. Hopefully I will have my mate Adrian attending Cadwell with me so that should leave one ticket going spare, which I hope to offer to DSC rideout regulars. Castle Combe allocation is all spoken for but after that I will hopefully have a couple ofl spare tickets for each round. |
As the others have said, it was discussed at the DD meeting at the AGM that spare tickets would be pooled and allocated on a first-come-first-served basis at each round, if I remember correctly? |
