the nearest chick would be my gf...but when i need to carry an spare, it's not cause i want my gf with me :o

no flippy bits on the back...

so, it seems as though my only options are

cargo net or put it on my arm

CARGO net- wouldn't the hooks simply slide off the back? the body work on the bip doesn't have a lip to stop the hooks from sliding off the back.....

putting it through arm- wouldn't be bad i spose, but not for more than 30mins !

You can cobble something together with a cargo net .. done it before. If you hook onto the rear footrest hangers for the front straps and then cross over the back ones and hook onto the indicator stalks you will find it works quite well. The crossing over of the rear straps keeps it tucked in tight at the back where you need it to be.

My pleasure. I use a tail pack in much the same way. 4 point fixing with 2 front straps to the footrest hangers and the rear ones joined and passed through the rear light mount where it screws to the exhaust. Put some "wonder web" over the seat unit to protect the paint and away you go. Rock solid and MUCH better than a rucksack (not only to get the weight off your back, but because it is central to the bike and lower down)

if the girl friend wants the "priviledge" of riding on the back of your 1st love, make her cart the lid around !!
