remember you can use a different front aswell to achieve the gearing you are looking for and then you could use a different rear (that might be available) to adjust the final drive ratio. this attachment (gearing table) should help - bit ott but very interesting. you can customise it to your own bike/tyres etc. |
Don't kid yourself Dom! I was running 15/46 on the practice day and it wouldn't pull the gearing, so I'm going to go shorter. The idea was to go to 14/44 but I may have a look at 14/45 first. Seeing as I can't track a 44 down anywhere .... |

It's the only way I can get through the day ;) |
I ran 14/48 at Brands Indy and it would'nt pull over 8500 rpm in 5th and 6th on the relatively short start finish straight. Maybe I should chop my legs off too..... |
TP and I, have been mass debating over this :o:lol: I think that the DD bikes should be able to pull standard or taller gearing at CC, but TP thinks he needs to go shorter. Thing is, TP was pulling 9,500 revs at Cadwell on the same gearing as he had at CC and couldn't pull more than 8,000 revs, yet the straight at CC is easily twice as long as at Cadwell... how strange is that?!?!?! Everyone seems to be running shorter gearing than stock road settings... I just don't get it :sniff: |
not all............................some of us need a better top speed.....:puzzled: |
