Paul, I have the same problem, what is the alternative, a jap bike, as good as they are they have no soul, or character and they most certainly dont have a club like this one.
The other thing that is important to me is the race history which I have always followed.
I know if I sold the duke for a jap I would regret it very quickly, theres no replacement for the sound of a duke, I think we all agree on that one.

Honda etc build road bikes and then modify them for racing.

Ducati build racing bikes then modify them for the road.

Stick with it, get Nelly to sort it for you, 14 tooth front sprocket then get a few trackdays in!!

Where abouts are you?

I live in Wokingham, which is in Berkshire, I dont think nelly is very local to me.

Well quite a few come up from London to see him, topitoo from heathrow, TP996 from twickenham to name but two.

I regulary commuted to London on my ST2 until just recently, it was imported by Baines for a mate of theirs, they did a BORA job on the cans and put a chip in the ECU, and changed the sprocket - I put a Comfort kit on it and a SERGEANT seat, which is miles more comfy and good looking than the std one. Result is a very comfortable bike to commute on - aeroodynamic and easy in town, that can also keep up with 916's etc (as proven at DSC rideouts) on the B roads due to good handing and ability to soak up bumps etc, plus no flatspots and great in town - no snatchiness at all. Thoroughlt reccomend thes mods.

{BTW mines for sale now unfortuunately due to my knee injury...}

but that's a good thing - it means you get to have a longer ride there and back;)

I will phone up Nelly and get a 14 tooth sprocket, and yes I might even take a day of work a get the st booked in for a bit of fettling with the man himself.

I would agree with that statment. I seem to recall a certain rideout through the lanes of north Lincolnshire when several of us on allegedly more capable 9**'s couldn't lose the little devil, and we sure as heck were NOT hanging about......!
