The organisers say you cant use them though. (Timing equipment).
Easiest way of getting round that is to put the laptimer under your seat pod, most of the bigger circuits like Brands, Snetty etc have their own beacons and they're quite often left on. I bought my laptimer from Rollcentre and it cost about £250 but if you go onto the Bemsee website (british m/cycle racing club) www.bemsee.co.uk they have a For Sale section and people are always selling stuff like that. The good thing about a laptimer is that some of them like my one downloads to your pc and you can keep a record of laptimes for each circuit, you can note your gearing, tyre pressures etc.....that may not be what you want but its handy to have! |
The 999 lap timer works in conjunction with the clock and the speedo by some clever electrickery. You press the starter button to stop/start it.Thats while the clocks are in lap time mode of course. If you want a cheap lap timer,HPS sell one for 25quid that fits on the handlebars.Failing that, why not tape a stopwatch to the bars? |
Mate how are you gonna use one of them with gloves on?! At silly speeds? |
Easy mate, ![]() Just like pressing the hooter button when you've got your commuting head on!;) |
Keefyboy to the rescue!!!! £25 all in, yippie One on order from t'morrow. Will review it for the next Pronto!! http://www.bikehps.com/acatalog/Bike...ml:sing::sing: |
Or even more dodgy, ...and even more expensive... You could just do what my mate does to his R6, and gets his little camcorder, and tapes it round-and-round-and-round his pillion seat, using a matching-R6-blue electrical tape. So it looks like a really really badly made single seat conversion. Worringly no one has ever stopped him yet! :alien: Hey presto, lap times and good home videos! :) ;) Vx |
Erm.......... not so yippie! No one has any in the UK, will have to source via USA methinks!!:mad: |
