mikey,i bought my mityvac kit,off of the Snap on man, full kit about £60 !,well worth it,when ure on ure own m8 ! |
Search for Mityvac my friend, there is a specialist place in the midlands (if I remember) that does the spares as well. I got mine from Hein Gericke - £36.99 item no 29000341 http://www.hein-gericke.com/hg-shop/...b_frameset.php found the other supplier as well: http://www.premiertools.co.uk/item2140.htm - a bit cheaper. Are the plastic mityvac's up to the job or is it worth investing in the metal item? Sorry but if I am going to buy one I may as well buy the right one:o |
Never used the metal - I have the plastic one - its doing ok but is looking a little grubby already. The only slight problem so far is with the resevuoir bottle that connects into the pump. There is a castle-ated union here and one of the tabs has snapped off already (when I was a bit clumsy at a midnight bleeding session - LOL - NO I am NOT a vampire). Frank |
Thanks for all of the advice. Yours still soggy from Donington, hoping Brands is warmer:lol: Mike |
Bought mine direct from speedbleeders themselves http://speedbleeder.zoovy.com/ SB1010S x3 and a bag and hose combo. Even with postage it works out cheaper than Demon Tweeks, and they arrive really quick. Jason |
I've got the all-singing-all-dancing metal mityvac in the dinky little carrying case. I got it off ebay bought directly from the States. Bloke's name was Ken something. Cost $40 + $40 postage IIRC (!). Still came to under 60 quid at the exchange rates at the time, wyheras I believe they are 100 quid in the UK, and I didn't get done for import duty etc. Although I gather that's pretty much pot luck when you buy from abroad. Best tool I ever bought. [edit] Like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WD4V [Edited on 26-7-2005 by moto748] |
mines metal, all snap-on men carry them on there vans ! |
Speed bleeders arrived today (4 days from the states) Unfortunately the sizes quoted earlier in the post are not corect:( You need ONE of the SB1010S for the rear, the front ones are different SB8125L. I cannot for the life of me work out the nipple required for the Clutch slave as I have a non standard item and will see if that is the same as the front caliper when the next lot arrive. In short bleading the back brake was an absolute doddle. The Mityvac arrived today aswell and it already looks redundant  |
I've posted in the for sale thread as well, but the SB1010S fit into the 40mm spacing calipers, as that's what I've got fitted. Do you have the 65mm spacing later model calipers? That could be the reason for the difference. |
