'My TLR has never seen a spanner in 22,000 km', much though i love Ducati's this will not be the case with a Ducati, but from my experience the later testasretta engine in the 996R/998's is a better bet. |
I concur, I replaced 8 rockers and polished one cam lobe in my 996 and that cost a pretty penny!!! The testastretta engine doesn't suffer this problem as far as I'm aware. If you can afford it go for the 996R. Otherwise by the latest model you can afford, that's that approach I took. |
Or you could just buy my 996!!  :alien: |
This is exactly the sort of advice I was looking for - thanks. Testastretta it is then. TP - I had read those articles about the 996bip tuning with great interest. They sound like a very knowledgeable crowd. Paul. |

They are indeed. They do testastretta engines too :D |
There is a 996R on Ebay at the moment: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1 What do you think? I know buying sight unseen is always a bad move but it looks ok and it is cheap - probably because it has done 10k. Paul. |
