Got to agree - stick on number boards make it look like wannabe racer bike. Paint doesn't chip, if you get it painted correctly using a two part acrylic paint system which utilses a hardner additive. Done correctly the paint is likely to be stronger than the plastic fairing. |

Paint doesnt chip?! Tell that to my 998  |
DJ - I havent seen your bike but my guess is that if it chips badly its been painted with cellulose paint. Easy safe and quick for the guy painting it - unfortunatey about as robust as Tipex fluid. I have raced mine on an old airfield circuit in a bunch of 40 other bikes, with so many stones flying around that my irridium visor had to be thrown away after two races - the front number board remains unmarked. |
I'm talking about the stock paintwork, doesnt chip really bad but it still chips :( Got a tiny "cut" in my painted numberboard too, 5 days after I had it done  F8ckin motorway maintenance vehicles! |
So anyway is that paint or sticker or leave it naked !! |
Whele, you are a snob, "make it look like a wanna be racer bike, hard to do with a bike which is a race bike to begin with |
Mine is a Foggy rep and I would endorse the painted option looks v cool IMHO especially with the rear done to match and the sticker kit. |
Sorry Adam, wasn't how it was supposed to sound....anyway as an Essex boy .... being called a snob is a compliment  |
only joking Whele, I had the stick on one on two bikes now and both have stayed put . I did'nt know there was a different paint used for the number board, so thought it would chip too easily. Oh well, might go for that option next time. |
