Yeh, I agree - I can't remember who I sold the OZ's to, ebay job I think. I did replace them with the carbon dymags, but they didn't look as good. I did also get some other black fairings in carbon for her that had number boards on them. I reckon the picture was when she looked her best, numberboards would have just finished her off nicely too. (and some 54mm termis). I do have some black fairings for my new 996R too!!! Watch this space. Tim |

tim what a stunning bike and those wheels looked awesome, dare i ask how much for a set ?? |

The OZ's were not too bad (relatively) - circa £850 - the carbon Dymags have magnesium rims and were priced around the £1300 mark. Tim |

Doh!!! That's what I meant!! ;) |
Carbon rims and magnesium centres - a sure fire recipe for galvanic corrosion! One bit of salty electrolyte on that interface and you will find the magnesium turning to powder in a BIG way...reducing structural integrity of the joint and seriously effecting the safety of the wheel. NOT recommended for anything but a pampered trackday/Sunday afternoon rocket ship - that's why Tim had them!!!:lol: Looking the dogs though! R X |
there bolted together. never seen a broken set |

Keefer, I'm not saying that they will break, just that the material combination is not ideal for all weather/all year round riding. The fact that the wheels are bolted together does not make a big difference - in fact if the anodising of the spokes is carried out before the bolt holes are drilled, this will allow corrosion to start even quicker!
