hi felix, do you have the fiche for the 90 corsa, 91spec. does it cover all the bike and parts. any chance of some info from it or similar. cheers robin |
I wish to add the following informations : Few months ago, I 've sent to Ohlins France my forks referenced : FG.9030. The told me this forks was used on Ducati 888 Racing in 91 and 92, according to their own professional documentation. The internal spring size and oil regulators are different. It looks like quite similar to SP.4 model except one external detail : Along the "yellow tubes", the alloy rings are smooth ... |
Thanks to Motobee for the precious informations ... I don't want to start confusions but .............. The last generation of 888 Corsa, along 94 saw another kind of Ohlins fork, referenced FG.9341 ... The main differences are about the bracket size for calipers support and essentially the diameter of the spindle which is tightened with an external large nut ... See joined file ... ... Sorry, but difficult for me to explain, hope to be readable ... ??? |
Thanks Phillipe for the additional information! One thing to keep in mind when looking at these old racebikes, is that as time went on they were usually updated with better parts to make them faster. They also tended to get crashed fairly often. So unless they were parked in a shed after their first season of racing or sold to a collector, they don't necessarily have all of their original parts. Robin, please post some pics of the bike when you get them. Inquiring minds want to know. Also, do you know what the chassis number is? Brian |
"""So unless they were parked in a shed after their first season of racing or sold to a collector, they don't necessarily have all of their original parts. "" I agree ... I currently own one of the last 32 888 Corsa built during 1994. The bike is always 100% original after few races . End of 1994, it's been stored an usued. I've got the technical documents for this item from Ohlins France. Only a few of these forks references FG.9341 have been imported in my homecountry. According to Ohlins, some calipers brackets support didn't resist to the brake power, especially with carbon brake disks, unusable after 1994 ... This following pic "speaks" to me ... :o |
Phillipe, Is that a photo of you on your bike? Brian |
No ... You can see here a well known french rider named Florian Ferracci. He was official rider for SIMA company, Official Ducati importer in 1994 !!! He's currently Moto GP mechanic ... I own 888 Racing's but don't ride them on circuit ... My future project ...very soon !!! But I ride a very very small special machine for endurance races. It's a racing SOLEX, this small french mopet with air cooled engine !!! Here I am, few laps before my victory after a 6 hours of endurance race, previous Week-end. I share this bike with another pilot, former Kawasaki official rider ... I'm 43 and enjoy those races like a kid ... You may be surprised to learn that I've been recorded a 102 km/h during the race ... Please, don't laugh too much !!!!! |
