I have a sony Vaio is fine as a pc but the right hinge has broke in less than 2 years not good from sony at all, now held on with tape:lol::lol:

I bought it mail order and wasnt to happy with it when it came for build quality, my advice is to try it our for feel at a shop even if u buy mail order.:D

I would look closely at the Apple. They're really good on graphics, and rather less trouble with the dreaded BUGS.

I bought an HP with wide screen, wireless, DVD burner, 80gb hard drive, 512meg ram, office and a load of other software.

Bought it from HP direct via e-bay, they have an online HP shop. It's a factory recon with a 1 year RTB warranty.

Cost less than £600, same model was close to a £1,000 online at PC world.

Great machine.

Think it will be the ACER ASPIRE 1801, get a lot for the money.

nice choice :) just one point, from my limited knowledge, is that if youre wanting any mobility, go for a centrino rather than the P4 CPU. Battery life will be much better.
