Well I'm on my second Octavia and had no problems with either of them, why buy an Audi or a VW when you can have the same car for a bit less and with more kit :puzzled:
Have a look where VW are in the surveys compared to Skoda aswell, think CC's problem is his dealer.

JBS is just up the motorway from you too and they can do wonders with the VAG deisel engines for around £450

Civic for old people Dibble??? Says the man in his Celica..... :rolleye:

But I've got to say Rob the new Civic just looks soooo wrong, sorry, I've had a few Honda's but I can imagine me buying one of those.... I'll wait for the Type-R to hit the streets and then eat my words

Get the Skoda. I love both the vRS models - superb value for money. I quite like the inverse snobbery of having a Skoda too!

I second the Golf GTi TDi. Bloody good car. Just sold the girlfriend's one. Wouldn't touch a Skoda skip with a bargepole. Like it's been said already, the old jokes still stand.

I'd go for the Leon Rob, or if you want power, try the ibiza diesal its even quicker.

For me I'm waiting for the Type R to drop in price due to the new one or maybe Leon Cupra, not a big diesal fan...... I'll get me coat..

Even at the height of the 'Skoda Skip' joke era, I had more respect for them than most because I was rallying at the time and they were the team to beat in the 1300 class.

Mind you, just before my office closed down earlier in the year I spoke to a lot of people who still had company cars (I've opted out) and every one of them that had cars built by the VW group seemed to have had endless trouble with them and suffered from a dealer network that couldn't care less. I think it was about 10 people in all with a variety of both petrol and diesel cars...Golfs, Passats, Sharan, Leon, Alhambra etc...

The phrase "If everything was as reliable as a VW" became an office joke for things like the photocopier - which only worked every other tuesday if there was an R in the month
