Oh, my aching sides! (Not from a crash this time) |
Ive got an old 999s 03 that was new when I got it this year and have to say that if I was in the same boat, ie a 05 bip or a 03 S I would have the S every time, but with you it the 749r or the 05 999s, I would go with the power if I was you, you know it makes sence :flame::burn::burn: |
Italia moto have a 999r 04 for sale http://www.italiamotoltd.co.uk/ Darren Doh, just seen your in Sweden sorry :rolleye: [Edited on 21-11-2005 by LesPaul] |

Went from an 03 999 BIP to 06 999s BIP. Awesome difference, although not too difficult to better in my opinion. 20bhp increase? Wasn't there a comment whereby the 'location' for taking the reading has changed hence such a large jump - i.e. WAS taken from back wheel, NOW taken from crank/sprocket? IMHO - get the 999s, but I'm biased. |
BikeMad said: "I would go with the power if I was you, you know it makes sense". Don't necessarily agree...I've ridden std 759 vs 999 and - depending on where you ride, if you're a trackday fiend, insurance costs etc - I'd go for 749 and use more of it, more of the time. |
Thanks everyone, NOW I just need to find where the kids hide their mony boxes. |

I went from a 999S to a 749R , no noticable difference in performance other than at the very top end but the smaller engine revs much higher and smoother , lots more fun and involving to ride :) , and mine is an 04 so has ALL the R extras. As someone else said , you will get an 04 R for the same price as a new S , and regardless of power figures / engine stroke similarities etc and R is an R , less of them , more desirable , do you really need to think about it ? |
