Doesn't sound very democratic to me...

Would have made more sense for 2 reps from each class, to ensure non-bias voting for the class from that rep and also so that those who partake in the series would be able to out-vote those who have no interest in it whatsoever.

But what do I know...

??

This assumption that MT has “no interest” in a DSC event/series is somewhat insulting to the hours upon hours that has been put into the series already buy the MT. This series would not exist if it were not for the MT (or the riders taking part). Yes the MT has no VESTED interest in making decisions that could be seen as improving their own positions in a race of series, - and that is exactly why the series HAS to have MT input. If the MT had no interest the series would have been passed to New Era (or the like) a month ago.

And if it is a plan to vote in riders reps who are to oppose every decision or question the RC will find itself once again ham strung; there will then be no 2007 DSC DD (IMO).

A big thank you to all of the riders who replied to recent questions/ e-mails.

surely the riders reps will be there because they are to represent the riders (they will be elected by the riders after all and therefore be accountable to them) so if they have an issue on the race committee it shouldn't be seen as just a personal rider rep issue but an issue that the riders want !! .... lets not forget that this is a riders series for dsc members ... and the riders therefore have an input as to how it is run.
this whole idea that the riders rep will make decisions on the race committee for personal gain is total rubbish in my opinion ... if ever a rider rep was found to be doing something along these lines (and i don't think it would happen) then surely the riders could vote that rep off at any point in the season and not just at the end/start of next !

It was all discussed openly and agreed as a workable compromise, I'm still at a loss to understand why some riders feel that the MT will want to oppose their interests ? I've NEVER said this and defy anyone to say where I have if they think it to be the case.

There are also club liability issues to consider as far as how we run things .

Lets try and take Michaels lead and lighten things up a bit, great avatar mate !!!, didn't realise you were around when "Citizen Smith" was on the box, (or is it back on UK Gold?)

Wolfie of the "Tooting Popular Front". I take my hat off to you for trying to defuse the situation :lol::lol:
