Be very careful!! My bike was won by someone with very little history. The guy come down on the train, I picked him up, everything was OK, loved the bike and I invited him into the house. Started filling out the paperwork; he handed me the cash. I asked my girlfriend to count while she was making us a cuppa in the kitchen next to the lounge. The money was £1000 short! The guy then accused my girlfriend of stealing the money, getting a bit mouthy, and calling us thieves!! He refused to leave until we gave him back the money we hadn’t stolen. I had to call the police, who escorted him back to the station. The guy then texted me later that evening to say if I still wanted to sell him the bike he would come back down the next day with £100 more than the asking price in cash again!!! Moral of the story is 'don’t let then into your house, count the money in front of them, the more positive ebay history the person has got the more they have to loose'. If I ever sell on ebay again I will only post out stuff, never have them come around to the house. |
Blimey, stox, that's sounds a nightmare! Cheers for the warning. |
