Just did mine not two weeks ago....$220 US for everything. I did the bulk of all of it myself including checking the valve clearances. I had two openers that needed adjusting so took it to the shop completely stripped all the way down, including the valve covers for that. The $220 included adjusting the new valves, adjusting belt tension, oil filter & washers for me to finish up at home. I even got to hang out in the shop while the guy was finishing up and learned how to do my own belt adjustments from now on. Luckily, all my vavle clearances are dead middle of the road and considering how this bike is not a track bike, odds are in my favor they will never need adjusting again...but I'll still check when required. I would think any dealer would work with you and cut a deal like my guy did.

Kinda off subject but....you guys always talk in pounds, celsius, and nm's, but you use miles for distance instead of km's a lot of the time??? Just curious?

KeefyB 16-Feb-2006 06:38

Yep we still use the mile for measureing road distances,we are not quite fully European yet!
Oh yeah, and we still drive on the left.:)

Do you guys change the display on your bikes to read miles/F* or is it in km's/C*?? I know you can change that on your own and the directions are in the owners manual. I ask because I know these bikes "think" in metric regardless of what display you have set. Even though we do a 6,000 mile service, it's still technically a 10,000 km service and the little service wrench comes on at 10,000 km's regardless of what type of display you have selected.
