I really hope it all goes well for you sharpo and you don’t get any nasties. The rest of the rockers in mine are still the original ones and show no signs of distress at 17000 miles, hopefully yours are like those.
There are some folk here that have also been lucky enough to have Ducati help them out, but also a lot more that have not and perhaps I had better point out I’m sure my bike was sorted due to a specific set of circumstances rather than anything else. Just making sure I haven’t inadvertently suggested something. :puzzled:
Fingers crossed for ya.
Ian.

It's coming apart today so i'll soon find out.

To be fair the rocker issue is the only real problem, they are awesome bikes and it should be ok after this.

But the wife does'nt see it quite like that, our 8 month old son is of course the priority and I agree.

Just watched Jeremy Kyle, maybe life's not too bad afterall.

I know how you feel, mine did 3 opening rockers, replaced during a shim service plus belts and plenty of sundries....£900 at Baines :o

Was out on it last Sunday though, excellent :D

sharpo 10-Apr-2006 21:12

Could be more than a grand but I hope not, all the sundries do add up rather quickly.

3 rockers and pulley bearings.

Oh well it'll only need doing once to that degree as long as the new rockers are better quality.

I'll be able to wring the living shi7 out of it now though eh:burn:

Saw the offending items today.
One with chrome worn right through, one with chrome almost through and one with a chip out of the edge but not on the contact area.
All exhaust openers two rear cylinder and one front.
The rears were the worst so the oil starvation looks the likely cause.
All the others are unmarked.

Ducati would be stupid to sell inferior replacements, so i'm confident they won't need doing again.

Haven't had the bill yet.
