This is my snobby side . . . Its a bit like the boxter/911 debate - you only get one cause you cant afford the other (which you would really really like) and EVERYONE knows what a boxter owner would really like to be driving. Why get a Ferrari engined car - when what you REALLY want is a . . . . ??? :frog: Khushy |
i will grab an AutoCar, thanks. A £3k service is for pretty major belt service i imagine at a main dealer? so £1 a mile for maintence isn't a million miles off!!! Yes i would prefer a 360 (who wouldnt) but that car is not an A to B car everyday like a 911 and various others! I'm also not looking at spending 360 money (i would have to part with the 999r :o ) The Ferrari thing does have a bit of hairy chest/footballer image thing which isn't complimentary, whereas the maser is a bit more understated and imho cool? Quite happy to park that in a supermarket carpark etc only those in the know would know whats under the bonnet [Edited on 4-4-2006 by chillo] |
Chillo if your young, good looking and have plenty of wonga:( Why not. All the best to you. |
They don't do it for me - a friend had one - only for a short while though - he had a few niggly problems with it - and got rid. Stick with the porker. Tim |

thanks Jon, not sure i'm any of those:lol: but thanks anyway! its a big thing to wave goodbye to my porker! I have been looking at an older model 996 (mk1 GT3) to replace my current 16 month old 996C2. But the thought of having a tubi V8 maserati is very tempting! picked up AutoCar! the new XK looks great, but i'm still dreaming in green, white and red!?! aargh! |
Simon, get an SL55,job done !,running costs on those mazzers are huge, the 4 door version comes with free servicing from new ! |
some good points, i will get a test drive to make sure either way!? :eureka: |
|
thanks for the link! only listing the 3.2 v8 twin turbo, i'm looking at the newer 4.2 v8 n/a;) |
