i dont think i'll ever go on a plane
did it once that was enough
two week holiday in corfu when i was bout 19
dont get i wrong, didn't mind the taking off and landing stuff. the rest off it was soul destroying
hanging around for three hours with nowt to do before you board
sitting for another half hour waiting to take off
then three hours on the damn plane (for me) waiting to get there
another hour for your ludgage
another hour spent waiting for the coach and the reps to stop chatting to each other and accually do something like find the people that are ment to be on the coach
then an hour on the flippin coach riding around dropping people hear there and every where

14 days to get over it and you have to do it again to get home
and that was before they had sucurity
i'd prefer to chew me arm off

Personally it wont stop me, I fly almost only for work, havent flown for hols for probably ten years. It wouldnt stop me anyway and I agree with all the restrictions if packing luggage in the hold is the safest way then thats wher it belongs. Only thing I will miss is my mobile and laptop whilst waiting after security/passport control.

Why stop???

Those wishing to disrupt our society with bombs will gain satisfaction even without any explosions, the fear and paranoia felt by some, feeds their evil minds, so laugh in their face and get on with life, feel sorry for the poor misguided fools or let Mav have ago at them?

Cannot understand why you got any grief.
I don't see why they should stop us living our lives.
The benefit is no more suitcases been dragged on and passed off as hand luggage leaving no space for those that may need it.

Hello

There is no justication for any human person wanting to take revenge in this way.

I say that as I guess its revenge they feel they need, extremist in any religion will
go to any lenghts to justify their cause.

What worries me more so is the fact America is so determined to fight the hidden enemy.
At what cost ? Do you feel any safer when news breaks like this, terroist attempt foiled.

One thing is for sure, media will never portray why there is so much hattred towards
the west and what drives people to the extrem.

I believe its all about money, and who gets a bigger piece of the pie.

The world is definatly getting smaller, and as the planets resources are being streched
people will become less intolerable towards each other let alone their chosen religion.

What ever happened to flower power?

Last Night I Had The Strangest Dream
words and music by Ed McCurdy

Last night I had the strangest dream
I'd ever dreamed before
I dreamed the world had all agreed
To put an end to war

I dreamed I saw a mighty room
Filled with women and men
And the paper they were signing said
They'd never fight again

And when the paper was all signed
And a million copies made
They all joined hands and bowed their heads
And grateful pray'rs were prayed

And the people in the streets below
Were dancing 'round and 'round
While swords and guns and uniforms
Were scattered on the ground

Last night I had the strangest dream
I'd never dreamed before
I dreamed the world had all agreed
To put an end to war.

Brits are just a bunch of stalwart folks when times get tough! Comments here are a good indication of that and more power to ya! Screw them ******s, just like you told Hitler to bite the big weenie!
Your security folks caught these guys just in time and you should be justly proud of their quick action. Never let these jerks win this game! Hail Britannia!
(tried to post this before, but seemingly no luck, so one more try)

As someone said in an earlier post, "it's proabably the safest time to be flying," can't even take books on a plane at the moment. Why, i'm sure paper could be impregnated with some sort of bomb fuel!

Anyway, all it means is the radicals will be looking for eaiser mass impact targets. Think Spanish trains and it's an easy jump to football matches, concerts etc...........

Have a great Sunday :-)

i've got no options, i have to fly for work. I've got no problem with the current level of checking but am not looking forward to 13 hour flights with no ipod, laptop or magazines :( I was on a US flight straight after 9/11 it didn't feel any different then with all the extra checks, but it will now with no personal items allowed

As has been said, the risks are small, its more dangerous to drive to the airport than it is fly using a major airline out of London.

I fly every two weeks back and forth between UK and Switzerland. It won't stop me, been doing it for the last 18 months, I'll carry on too.

What with online checkin now, I just turn up at the airport abotu 20 mins before the gate closes, and I hop on the plane. I've spent longer waiting for a train. Much better than it all used to be. Even long haul is getting shorter the time you have to hang about.

If your time is up, your time is up. I wouldn't let anything like this stop me or my girlfriend from making the bi-weekly flight.

I may be wrong but, according to the BBC website, you can take anything you buy in the departure lounge on a plane. If so, buy your books and magazines there. I don't fancy 13 hours with nothing to read either.
