I'll post a pointer to this thread. Obviously there's something odd going on but, clearly you can fit 14t sprockets to ssie motors.

got a 14T front on my 620Sie motor in my Class A DD bike although I have it fitted with the boss facing outwould so that the sprocket is a bit nearer to the crankcases to suit my chain alignment.
Also had one on the 750SSie when I raced it at Darley the other week, again if fitted without any problems

I'm running a 14t on my 620ie and have been all season. When I put it on I checked both sprockets and boss size / alignment was identical. The chain is in exactly the same place as it was with a 15t.....

Maybe they have weird sprockets....... or weird eyes.... Just kidding guys, I'm sure it's just a sprocket issue.

I to have run a 14t on my 620ie all year without any problems. :D

I used to run 14t front sprocket on my 1999 750ss ie. I'm currently running a 14t front sprocket on my 2002 900ss ie. I'm also running a 14t front sprocket on my 1995 600ss ie DD bike.

So that's two injected and one carbed Supersport bikes that I've run 14t front sprockets on with no problems.

The pic above is the old carbed bike, but I used the same 14t sprocket on the new 800^H^H 620 engine as well.

hmm

Been lurking here for a while but thought I'd jump out on this.

I think we are getting only half the story.

Ok after a lot of reading I find that his problem is NOT that 'A' 14 tooth gear won't fit, it's that it is different and won't fit or suit HIS bike. That other chick was saying she had the same thing. Both these bikes are 06 800 SS bikes in the USA. Anyone know for sure if these are the same or different. I know a 14 tooth fits my bike, 900ssie 2002, I've just gone back to a 15.

I don't really understand why you've brought us into this twpd, I feel no real good will come of it.

All Ducati bikes are built in a shed on the outskirts of a town in Italy. They don't have the ability to tailor bikes to such minute detail as changing the output shaft on bikes for the USA market! The output shaft has been the same since the early nineties, from SS through to Superbike.
